In most every area Mannville proves that it can hold its own. Few smaller communities offer such a range and diversity of services. It is a great place to call home with everything needed for growing your business.

 

When the Yellowhead (part of the Trans-Canada Highway System) expanded to four lanes, it bypassed and created a handicap for most of the towns and villages between the cities of Edmonton and Lloydminster.  The highway would no longer run through Mannville. Customer traffic would be lost. Mannville was the only municipality to meet this challenge head on. An 'Industrial Park' was created and the boundaries of this village had now moved to meet the highway. Mannville is now the only community with services along this 237 kilometer stretch that meets the highway.

Mannville offers excellent learning facilities for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The province had decided to no longer invest in the smaller schools. Through creative endeavors, these citizens were able to obtain provincial funding to build and renovate what is now a well equipped school for the continuing development of their young people.

Along with its' school, Mannville developed their Recreation Complex which offers hockey, curling, fitness facilities, and a gymnasium/community hall with well equipped cooking facilities. They take their sports seriously. Three former NHL hockey players had their start in Mannville. At one time Mannville was home to one of the largest fastball tournaments in Western Canada.

Just a short time ago, Mannvilles' award winning Golf Course and RV Resort was nothing more than scrub land in the river valley. Vision and resolve transformed it into a course that is now renowned for its natural beauty and challenges. Golfers from near and far continue to give high reviews.

​

​To develop housing, Mannville followed the example of another community by building affordable homes and selling them at cost. This spurred building within the community and expanded the tax base.

​
